Epilogue ...

In the end, when it was all said and done it was recorded that their demise came from within.
It was their arrogance
that proved to be that which devoured them.
Their inability to not only consider an others way,
but an inability to even, remotely, conceive
that there might be other ways.
And now they exist
no more
and no one
remembers
their names.

magical memories
time spent well
somewhere else
beyond this hell

no end standing
to meet its match
justification lags
to batten down the hatch

no longer it matters
what problems survived
for everything has changed
in the blink of an eye

shattered
hopeless
left in the streets
agony
all is complete

tasteless art
the poet in chains
has no words of comfort
for everything has changed

looking for answers
questions unknown
exiled from reason
a star is borne

The pale barren land,
a blood stained hand,
the life of my love seeps into the ground.

The harsh bitter wind snaps frozen branches
from skeleton trees as they labor to bend,
their leaves stolen by the grey of winter.

The white Christmas dream has now become the nightmare's scream.

On the horizon the resurrection of Spring
and with the last ray of light
the hope of a better day.

I am tired of living amongst
the dead
the Godless
the lukewarm
the procrastinators
the do gooders
the misinformed
the disinformed
the reformed
the shills
the actors

and so it goes,

I am tired of living
in a world
hell bent
on a
suicide mission.

But I will
see it through,
I will run the race
and I will take the prize
promised me.

and so it goes,

I will not be forsaken.

Somebody,
Nobody,
Anybody,
Why?

Much to strange,
unfortunate.

Belonging to none,
beyond my understanding.

For what purpose,
preplanned,
free fall,
befuddled.

Time to stop.

Forced to play
games without rules.
They get what they want,
but not quite as they thought.

Stopped in their tracks,
ironic outcome
as I walk around
forward,
never looking back.

There is a way
that guides one by
its never ending grace.

And this I know
from the first moment
that everything began.

Endless time that ever was
and ever yet will be,
has never ceased to
set me in flight
to seek my way back home.

Who am I inside this shell
that seeks you more than life?

As the clouds roll across my eyes
in tiny sparks I see,
that who I am inside this shell
is no one else but me.

Breathe in, breathe out, after the in, before the out, another thing. What is that thing? If you've formed an opinion, you've missed the point. If you think you know, you've lost the meaning. Cage, capture . . . kill, destroy . . . What's the difference? - gloria valentine
